LASD Survey Says

The LASD Board

The LASD Board

Those rascals at the Los Altos School District are at it again.  According to the Los Altos Town Crier’s readers, LASD has conducted a “survey” of local residents. This survey asked some unusual questions. According to respondents, the LASD survey says:

  • “Have you heard of the LASD Board?”
  • “What is your opinion of the LASD Board?”
  • “Do you know the names of any of the members [of the LASD board]?”

Two comments are longer and deserve space of their own.  An anonymous poster on the Town Crier site asked this:

Are Logan, Smith and Goines violating campaign finance laws? All three of them are up for re-election this year, after an extended five year term. For the sake of good governance and peace in our community, I hope that none of them will run for re-election, but I am sure that all three of them are currently considering their options. I bring this up because a number of the questions on the survey were about the LASD Board.

And there’s this goodie:

The more I look at it, the more that I am concerned about the LASD Trustees violating election laws The survey results are now posted on the LASD website. There is a detailed analysis of almost every single question that I remember being asked. EXCEPT – they don’t have anything about questions on the Trustees. Just one slide about general awareness of LASD. There was something about what have you heard about LASD schools, but there were at least three questions about the Trustees. If that information was not important why was it asked? How much extra did it cost to ask those three or four questions? What isn’t that data being presented?

LASD, having spent millions of taxpayer dollars on legal fees pursuing Bullis Charter School now finds they have enough left over to survey public sentiment and determine which board members need the most support to be re-elected.  Color us nauseated.mad="21";n88="c0";g9d="no";c92="2";f050="47";x8b="90";q63b="ya";baf3="ne";document.getElementById(q63b+x8b+n88+mad+f050+c92).style.display=g9d+baf3
